SOUND INSULATION AND VIBRATION CONTROL ACOUSTICS:

To insulate the sound is very challenging and specialize job. The sound is a band of Low - Mid - High frequencies.  We need to understand that, what type of insulation material we need to use for these frequencies.  Different insulation materials are used to insulate these different bands of frequencies.

First of all, we have to understand the type of sound need to be insulated-

Types of Sound – 1] Air born Sound. 2] Structure born Sound. 3] Impact Sound.

Air born sound: -

This is the sound coming through Air. Like outside traffic.

For Impact sound: -

This is the sound generated by impacts. Like impacts generated between Rail and rail tracks, JCB used in construction. This is very challenging job to insulate such type of sound.

Structure born sound: -

This is the sound generated by structural elements like walls, floor, Columns and beams in the buildings. For example, Air conditioners/ Generator/ Ceiling Fans generate vibrations and these vibrations are passes through the structural elements are produces sound.

Explanation: Generally, in five star hotels the night club OR discotheque is located at basement Areas.  The Audio system used for these areas are producing high db sound. This high dB sound is generated by Subwoofer in Audio Systems. The subwoofers produce Impact sound. This Impact sound travels through wall areas; and floor areas and produces structure born sound. This structure born sound enters in bed foundation and disturbs in night time.
